Chanel Premiere Platinum 950 Swiss Quartz Black Alligator Strap

This entire watch and its specialized clasp mechanism were conceptualized and designed by Jacques Helleu who served as the legendary Artistic Director of Chanel. 

When Helleu introduced the Première line in 1987, it marked the fashion house's historic first foray into horology. His goal was to create a design strictly for women that entirely avoided traditional, masculine watch architecture.

The octagonal shape directly duplicates the geometry of the Chanel N°5 perfume bottle stopper, which itself was an abstraction of the aerial outline of the Place Vendôme in Paris.
