We are watch enthusiasts ourselves! Only a watch and jewelry aficionado truly understands and appreciates the intricacies of the manufacturing process. Did you know it takes one year to manufacture a Rolex watch, meanwhile, it takes about 11 hours to manufacture a Toyota automobile! This is just one of the reasons why luxury timepieces can be rather expensive. One of our friends, The late Mr. Severin Wunderman, a visionary who started Gucci Timepieces a few decades ago and later resurrected Corum Timepieces, once told me his watch business was only 5 percent of his revenues but 95 percent of his headaches. I asked “why are you still in the watch business?” he replied, “I love it and can’t be away from it”.
